In fact, the reality far exceeds what we imagine on the site before coming there. The monument is beautiful beyond words. It is truly one of the wonders of the world. We chose to hire a local guide who provided us with all the necessary explanations, made us go through the controls with great efficiency and made this tour even more magical since he was a good philtre with the many photographers who are looking to sell their services to you. But the place itself suffers neither from the presence of many tourists nor from those of the inevitable street vendors. There are people, but the traffic is well managed, the site is very clean, the view of the river, splendid and the place is magical and moving.
Magnificent monument! Luckily the sun showed up at the end. Remember to take photos with water reflection. Beautiful place!
1. Go for the sunrise(5.30am) and the sunset(5.30pm) views. You will be surprised to see how it dramatically looks different. Lesser crowd in the mornings too. 2. Hire a professional photographer ( Not the ones who click on mobile). You will not regret. Make sure he is recognised by ASI. Taj Mahal looks different in the lens of a professional camera. They know the angles, time, poses and the perfect light. You can focus on enjoying the monument. 3. Take online tickets. Saves you time and energy. Keep the tickets with you. It is checked again at the exit gate 4. Don't forget to take a government approved photoID. This is religiously checked. 5. Other than a camera, don't take anything but a water bottle. Will save you time in security checks. 6. Uber works great in Agra. They arrive on-time even at 5.00am.
You are amazed and breathless in front of so much beauty and geometric perfection; a true well-kept wonder of the world that the photos only partially render. Despite the scorching heat it is a must-see destination! Everything is amazing: the location, the whiteness of the marble, the perfect geometry, the inlays, the scenery, the gardens. Beautiful.
It's a place to see at least once in your life. Beautiful, photogenic. It's nice to look at it from different angles and at different times. Early in the morning he gives his best, when the crowd is still limited. In the afternoon it is beautiful seen from a distance, on the other side of the river where the crowds do not arrive. And there is no photo that makes it like the experience of seeing it live.
The Taj Mahal is a large white marble mausoleum mosque built in the style of ancient Mughal architecture. It is located in the ancient capital of India - Agra in India on the banks of the Jamna River. The mausoleum was built by order of the Great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died of bleeding during the 14th birth. Shah Jahan himself was later buried here. Perhaps it is the Taj Mahal that is most associated with India. I recommend it. It is better to take an individual tour for a visit.
Great service...Great food As usual it was good to revisit a reliable Indian restaurant Can recommend to everyone Pat & Barry
Simply impressive! I went on a tour with Maktub Travel and it exceeded all my expectations! Someday I will return!
It deserves being g named one of the new 7 wonders of the world ! I have visited 7 of these 7 new wonders of the world including The great pyramid of Giza . In terms of pricing , it is a very decent price even for foreigners to enter at around US$13 compared to the ridiculously priced Petra at US$70, Macchu Pichu priced almost similar . Went during Hune and it was hot! Suggest that after visiting this site , go and visit Baby Taj after that, both are great awesome inspiring architecture.
Wah Taj!!! What else?? I am 56 and lived in India for 42 years but never seen the Taj. Finally saw it. It lives up to all the hype.
it’s real. I’d seen its image in so many films and photos that standing in the gardens was a little surreal. The visitor process is well run with little buggies shuttling you to the entrance. The gardens are beautiful. Accept the fact that you should go with one of the many professional photographers. .
A wonder of the world. Very beautiful place. You have to come in the morning when the sun wakes up. It's worth getting up early. The colors are amazing and there are not many people. The climate is also more pleasant.
There’s a reason why The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Breathtaking and amazing place to visit at least once in a lifetime.
Surreal beauty and an insane level of craftsmanship and artistry. The most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Magnificent is what I said, when I walked through the west gate and saw the Taj Mahal. The area around the Taj Mahal is very beautiful too. The love story about it, is heartwarming. It’s a must see definitely for anyone. Check the weather if it’s going to be foggy early, you should plan to go in the early afternoon, you will get better pictures. If you want to go inside, you must put covering over your shoes which are provided to you by a guard and no pictures can be taken. Outside you can take as many pictures as you would like.
Magnificent and majestic piece of architecture and craftsmanship. The stone work is amazing and the mughal architecture
This is my third visit to Taj Mahal and given a choice, it is a place I will keep coming back again and again. It is so majestic and surreal that I can sit down and keep admiring the icon the whole day. The stories surrounding the building are amazing to listen to. I should give it a 5-star, but I gave only 4 stars bcos of the unscrupulous photographers there. So, here come by warning. We will be so excited by the thoughts and view of the Taj Mahal. There are photographers there who can take amazing photos there. But be careful of there. Most of them offer package at exorbitant prices, like 150 printed photos for Rp5000. And they will only show the packages after you have taken all the photos and soon you will be haggling over the price. So, I told my photographer that I only wanted the digital copies and only willing to pay Rp3000. Of course, he was counter proposing, and this took another 20 min to negotiate. Finally, he agreed to my price. So my advice is ... PLEASE negotiate with the photographer how many photos (and whether digital or printed) you want and how much you willing to pay him before you engage him. Do a quality check of the first few copies as my turned out to be a bit whitewashed. The photography session itself will take about 45min to 1hr. So, keep aside sufficient time to tour the place also.
We visited the Taj Mahal late in the day and at sunrise the next day. This recommendation from the agency for 2 reasons different colors and more or less people. We had the pleasure of seeing it twice under the sun with very beautiful light. It's splendid, full of energy and love.
The visit to the Taj Mahal was akin to entering a dream. Everything about the Hotel Krishna in Agra was cozy and delightful. It was a beautiful site. Mr. Raju, our tour guide, brought the Taj Mahal to life with his enormous knowledge about its history. My Papa handled the congested streets of Agra like an expert. The Taj Mahal will always hold a special place in my heart as a result of my journey which left me with a lovely recollection.
Great place and wonder to see. Second time visit. Pray to Allah for Jannat to the great couple. Must the place the real wonder of the world.
I departed 3am from Delhi to beat the traffic, crowds and heat. Going early also means less queues. Bear in mind, your entry ticket is valid for 3 hours. Hold on to your ticket as you may be asked to show it to enter certain areas. You will probably need about 2 hours to have a good look around. Travel light as security is tight and many items cannot be taken in. Check official website for specifics.
We had a great experience! Our tour guide was Kamran and he was amazing! He was very polite and knew everything there was to know about the history of the Taj! He answered all of our questions and was very patient! It was an amazing sight and a absolute must if travelling to India. Can't recommend this enough!
Love has no boundaries and so does this place, What a masterpiece of art. Loved it <3 <3 Highly recommend this place to visit with your loved ones.
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful and so much beautiful Monument in this earth recently I been India and Taj Mahal is the best in all over world.
Nice place may visit every time every one should go there once.lovable place should go with family members.
Its a heaven taj is taj no one else compared with this monuments around the world its real wonder of world
The whole experience was surreal from the entrance to the grounds and finally the main Taj Mahal and it's splendor. The guide was very informative about the whole history of the Mughal Empire and the love of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz
I felt as if I am visiting Taj for the first time, though it was my 5th visit. I felt same vibes which i experienced 31 years ago. Its marvellous appearance mesmerises everyone. People throng in frenzy and take pictures and leave the place in an hour or two. We stayed in Agra for 2 days and enjoyed the glorious structure. The structure is well maintained and the surroundings are neat and clean. We went to Mehtab Bagh and enjoyed the Taj from far view over Jamuna river. One should try this view too. You can enjoy snacks and beverages at Saniya Palace overlooking Taj. Wow what a view. We engaged the services of a guide, Mr. Parvez and he not only took us around explaining each and every detail. But also took our photos at strategic points.
The Taj Mahal is one of the best place that you can visit once in the life, it is one of the seven wonders and beautiful building, a great example of architecture. Best experience ever to know this such a nice place.
Got chance to visit this ionic building, the wonder of world last year, but posting today and I had open account recently. What a magnificent work of art, eligent and a must place to visit. You can feel the history behind it when to see it. Beware of local riskshaws and venders, they try to say extra prices to cheat you and better have a better bargaining power
The place needs no introduction or review as such. I am writing it just to express my feelings when I first saw this. Taj Mahal is huge. It is magnificent. No photographs or videos that I have seen till date do justice to it. This has to be seen to believe what it is. The entry fee for me was much higher than what Indians pay but I am not complaining. The experience was well worth it.
The operators of the security know this is a wonder of the world that will pull in people, and because of that they show NO respect to you or your belongings during the security/entrance process. There are too many people, even during slow periods, and none of the tourists show anyone else any respect, so expect to fight for that picture you want. Its a shame because they really lessen how great the experience should be.
Oh my god Taj Mahal is really beautiful. I recently visited with my Husband and this was the first time I visited. The beauty can not be described in photos. I would highly recommend to visit very early in the morning as there is little rush and the light is perfect for the photos. I would also recommend to buy tickets online so that you don’t have to wait in line.
Must see attraction. India would do well by investing in improving the surrounding area. I’m sure it would attract more tourism money, more than paying for the investment.
Beautiful place to see and it is without a doubt a gem of India. Beautiful and amazing Taj MAHAL. Highly recommended.
The Taj Mahal is truly magnificent, the architecture made with precision on such a large scale. Beautiful in all its glory. Our guide Abdul was amazing, he’s our super star. Was able to take us via fast track, as the cue is a couple of kilometres. We were well informed about the history of the Taj Mahal. Thank you Abdul for this amazing experience. Would recommend getting Abdul if you are visiting the Taj Mahal
Beautiful monument, unbelievable workmanship but it's a long walk. The place is huge. Take a guide (certified by Archeological Survey of India) to know about the intricacies of the monument. Optical illusions at certain levels is stunning. How to reach - we stayed at Courtyard Marriott which is abt 1.5 km from shilpgram close to west gate - took golf cart run by Agra dvpt authority to taj premises - we were frisked before entering the premises Points to note - go after a heavy meal. It's a long walk. Takes at least 1.5 hrs if you rush through - wear comfy footwear - carry no food. It is taken out during frisking except for baby milk (water n formula) - drinking water outlets are available, but best to carry your own - hire a photographer, they know how to get the best shot. (We paid 80/- or 1 USD per print) - Avoid the weekend rush. Friday closed - Book tickets online in advance. - Enjoy nature as mush as the monument (parrots, squirrels n different tree types) - be weary of monkeys as you exit after the tour - toilets are there, but no diaper changing station in case you are traveling with a baby
